Welcome to Lakeside Sports & Pain Clinic
Specializing in chronic pain and sports medicine, Dr. Mark Wheaton has been in practice for over 14 years. He has developed an excellent reputation for providing the best of both traditional and natural treatment methods available for pain. While he is well-known in the prolotherapy community, he is also adept at many other techniques including neural therapy, electrotherapy and neurotransmitter therapy, all used to control pain and restore normal function.
It is Dr Wheaton's treatment philosophy that patients be highly involved in their care. The better educated you are about your health, the more likely you will be to understand the process of healing and respond favorably to treatment.
Why Choose Us?
Established in 1996, Lakeside Sports & Pain Clinic is now located on the beautiful shores of Lake Minnetonka. Patients immediately comment on the welcoming, relaxing environment and personal nature of our office. It has always been Dr Wheaton's desire to know his patients, the whole patient, not just their condition.
During a first visit, Dr Wheaton will often spend an hour in consultation with a patient, reviewing their history and performing a thorough exam. Many patients have already been through the standard treatments offered today, including physical therapy, chiropractic treatments, acupuncture, cortisone injections, etc. So, we are often the "last resort" for some patients who have been told "You will just have to live with it." Don't be discouraged by this, there are other options for treatment. Dr. Wheaton believes in finding and treating the underlying cause of an injury or chronic pain condition instead of "quick-fixes" or "band-aid" treatments that just cover symptoms.
We are frequently asked about patient response to our treatments. Follow this link to read various success stories and testimonials based on treatment areas. We think you will find it helpful to read how other patients have benefitted from our care.
Dr. Wheaton is well-known for the natural injection procedure, Prolotherapy. If you would like to learn more about this procedure, visit the prolotherapy page or download our free booklet by clicking the image to the left.
